American Airlines has canceled more than 1,700 flights

American Airlines has canceled more than 1,700 flights during the Halloween weekend. In which more than 800 flights were canceled on Sunday alone. The company said the flights were canceled due to weather and staff shortages. Airlines that cut staff in large numbers a year and a half ago due to the Covid-19 pandemic are now struggling to make ends meet.


According to American Airlines, 343 flights were canceled on Friday. After that, 548 flights were canceled on Saturday. Most of the canceled flights were to or from Dallas and Charlotte, North Carolina. According to the company, 1,800 flight attendants are returning home in November after completing their leave. In addition, it is hiring 600 more flight attendants by the end of this year.
