Domestic airline companies are set to increase their basic airfare as per the recommendation of the Airline Operators’ Association of Nepal to different destinations and the revised airfare will be effective from 5th of February after the cost of air fuel hiked in Nepal. Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the price of Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) on Friday by Rs. 5 per liter, which is set to escalate airfare in all domestic flights.
The Extra Charges ranging from Rs. 75 to Rs. 355 charges will be added on the airfare ticket depending upon the journey time and distance. As per the source, it is subject to the approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and will be effective after its’ approved by the authority.
NOC had increased price of fuels just couple of weeks ago.
The government controls the price of a plane ticket while airlines are allowed to fix the surcharge if fuel prices fluctuate by at least Rs4 per litre.
