Aircraft Turbine Fuel (ATF) Depot being constructed at Chandragadhi Domestic Airport

One of the oldest airport established in November, 1963, Chandragadhi Civil Aviation Authority located in south eastern part of Nepal serves hundreds of travelers daily and now has added facility for the aircraft take-off and landing from the aerodrome in Chandragadi Airport.
Recently on August 17, 2016, Chandragadi Airport started the ATF fueling service by mobilizing the two fuel tanker vehicle which was supplied according to daily needs from Biratnagar Airport. As the demand of ATF has increased, Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) at Jhapa has started constructing a ATF storage depot inside the airport premises at Chandragadi Airport which has been considered positive helping the growth of infrastructure of the airport.
The domestic airlines operators have been demanding the expansion of refueling system in all the domestic airports of Nepal. According to the demand of the airliners, Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) will be gradually implementing plans to expand the refueling system in many other domestic airports and the service will be available as soon as possible informed Mr. Pradeep Yadav, Chief of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) fuel depot.
Chandragadhi, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Pokhara, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, Surkhet and Ramechhap airport has ATF refueling services. Some of them also have a fuel storage depot facility while in some of the airports, the fuels used are to be supplied daily as per the need bu mobilizing fuel tanker.
All the aircraft conducting flights from Chandragadhi Airport will be highly benefited from this service. The airport is soon going to add other features including an X-ray machine and emergency fire machines. As per the airport authority, the airport will also be operating mountain flights after the completion of the project which now only conducts flights to Kathmandu.
With this progress, Chandragadi Airport has taken a leap forward in providing better service to both the in providing better service to both the airliners and the passengers.
