Numerous passengers barely evaded death on Saturday morning when an Air Peace aircraft crashed-landed on Kwara State’s Ilorin International Airport runway.
The Ilorin International Airport’s runway has since been closed. All flights to Ilorin have been suspended, awaiting the jet’s evacuation. According to sources, the aircraft crashed shortly after arriving in Ilorin from Abuja at around 9.30 a.m.
The plane’s tire broke, causing a noise that jolted the cabin, with baggage hitting with people. The airport’s runway has been blocked to traffic for the past 24 hours. However, all of the passengers were evacuated safely off the plane.
The Nigerian Federal Aviation Authority (FAAN) has yet to respond to the accident.
