Air India plane returned without reaching Moscow after Pilot Found COVID-19 Positive
Air India Flight No. AI1945 that departed to Moscow on Saturday has returned back from Uzbekistan airspace after the airline perceived that one of the pilot onboard had tested corona positive.
The pilot of the Airbus A-320 Neo (VT-EXR) that flew from Delhi to Moscow on Saturday morning was recalled from Uzbekistan airspace after finding out that he had a Covid-19 infection.
An oversight by the team checking the crew members’ pre-flight test reports had accidentally interpreted the positive statement to this captain as negative and released him for the ferry flight.
The aircraft had flown to Moscow to rescue the Indian national. The crew has been sent to quarantine as soon as they return. At present, Air India’s aircraft has been used to repatriate its citizens in different countries.
