Air Crash Investigation Team formatted for Goma crash

‘9N-AKY’-MSN 2917 Let L-410UVP-E20 operated by Goma Air (Summit Air) crashed in an accident when it attempted to land on runway 06 at Lukla-Tenzing-Hillary Airport on Saturday noon. The crash resulted in ending causing fatality of both pilot crews. Cabin Crew Pragya Maharjan was rescued safe and is currently breathing her normal breaths.

The precise circumstances are unclear. For probing the cause behind the mishap, investigation team has been set. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has formed a five member probe commission under the coordination of former Civil Aviation Authority Nepal (CAAN) Director General Triratna Manandhar to investigate the crash of the cargo flight of Goma Air.

According to Ministry Of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the probe committee is led by Triratna Manandhar and will jointly be assisted by member-Colonel at the Directorate General of Army Aviation, Captain Ashish Narsingh Rana, Senior Captain at Tara Air Bodh Raj Niraula, Senior Engineer at Manang Air, Digambar Rajbhandari and Joint Secretary of Civil Aviation Ministry Suresh Acharya. The ministry has allocated ninety days’ time for the investigation.
