The Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Ltd. (Aerothai) is set to conduct testing of various equipment installed at the airports of Nepal. Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) conducts the testing program every year for which Aerothai has been appointed this time through open competition.
CAAN informed that the testing of RADAR and communication equipment has been started. American company conducted the testing in the previous year. The necessary preparations had been initiated from Tuesday, said the officials of CAAN.
Aerothai will deploy Beechcraft B300 series aircraft for the equipment testing. The inspection will be carried out by 7 technical members.
The technical team will conduct the inspection till 4th of Jestha and will prepare detail report on the condition of various equipment at the airports of Nepal.
The detail report will provide the information of every equipment and CAAN can utilize the report for maintenance, replacement if required.
Aerothai is a state enterprise under the Ministry of Transport. It was founded in 1948 by airlines with the consent of the Royal Thai Government to provide air traffic control and aeronautical communication services for airline operations.
