Low Visibility at Bhojpur Airport

Adverse weather conditions affecting the domestic flights

March 30, 2017

Bad weather conditions these days have been highly affecting the flight operations in Nepal. Maximum numbers of airports around the country are encountering less visibility due to which VFR (Visual Flight Rule) flights are being interrupted.

Less visibility at Pokhara Airport affected some of the flights yesterday and entire flights in the morning today. Buddha Air, Yeti Airlines and Simrik Airlines conducted minimum flights yesterday. The schedule flights of Simrik and Tara Air to Jomsom from Pokhara has been interrupted today.

No any flights operated from Pokhara to Kathmandu till 11 am today. The tourist attractions like ultralight and paragliding also got affected by the poor weather.

Likewise, Biratnagar Airport is also facing the same problem. The Twin Otter of Nepal Airlines Corporation with registration ‘9N-ABT’ rested at Biratnagar Airport today and is waiting for VFR clearance.

Mainly the flight operations at STOL (Short Takeoff and Landing) routes have been affected. The problem will persist until the weather gets improved with greater visibility.
