Second Colombo Flight of Himalaya Airlines on 3rd May
26-Apr-2016, Sumesh Shrestha – The second commercial flight of Himalaya Airlines established with a joint investment of Nepal and China to Colombo is scheduled for 3rd May 2016. This second flight is scheduled after the success of the first promotional flight of Himalaya Airlines to Colombo.
The Airbus 320-214 series aircraft of Himalaya Airlines will take off from Kathmandu at 8:30 AM for its second commercial flight to Colombo. The return flight will be on 7th May afternoon at 4:00 PM. The flight is supposed to flourish the tourism business between Nepal and Sri Lanka. The fare for the second flight is set to Fifty Five Thousands Nepali Rupees and Thirty Five Thousands Nepali Rupees for Business Class and Economic Class respectively for the round trip as a promotional fare. The airline has made agreements with the main tour operators from the country to promote this promotional fare.
The vice president of the Airlines Bijay Shrestha said, “We got a very positive feedback from the passengers of the first flight. On the basis of that we have decided to conduct another flight with promotional fare.” He has also requested all the travel agencies to promote this package in the market of Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Before this, Himalaya Airlines conducted its first commercial flight to Colombo from 12th Apr to 16th Apr on the offer of New Year 2073. The first flight took off from Kathmandu after the Ambassador of China for Nepal Wu Chuntai and Ambassodor of Sri Lanka for Nepal as well as President of Tibet Airlines Cheng Yeru inaugurated the flight service inauguration ceremony in Tribhuvan international Airport.
Himalaya Airlines established in August 2014 started its service in the international market from April 12, 2016 after making a direct flight to Colombo. The airline informed that its primary destinations are Delhi (India) and Doha (Qatar). The airline will also fly to Lhasa (China), Chengdu and Beijing after few months of its operation.
Himalaya Airlines informed about the accomplishment of all its preparations for the commercial international flights. The training of Pilots, Flight Attendants and Engineers and other preparations have been completed.
Himalaya Airlines is aimed to bring 15 Airbus 320 series aircraft within next five years for operating to major and different cities of Asia and other nations. It is also planning to operate in Japan, Korea, Europe, Australia and America bringing the Airbus 320 designed for long flying routes after certain period of time of its operation.
This airline established in a joint venture has 48.99% share of the Tibet Airlines and 51.01% share of the Nepali company.
