Tumlingtar Airport Halts from Past 3 days
Sumesh Shrestha – Tumlingtar Airport remains closed since few days due to poor weather conditions resulting the operations of airplanes to a halt. The weather of the Airport is not clear causing the obstructed view for pilots and hence no planes have been able to land there. The rain clouds over the land not causing the rainfall have resulted this weather around the zone.
Civil Aviation Authority of Tumlingtar Airport halts the operation of airport temporarily because of low visibility conditions. The airport remains closed from Friday till today. An airplane will require a minimum of 5000 meters visibility to land VFR on Tumlingtar Airport but since few days the visibility of airport has not progressed and is limited to 1500 meters only because of which no plane has been able to land there.
The closure of airport is causing a lot of troubles for passengers. Daily 2 flights of Buddha Air and 1 flight of Yeti Airlines which fly in that region are being cancelled. Because of no flight operations sick people are compelled to be transported via road. They are taken to Dharan in taxis through Hile road.
