Prolonged Terai unrest forces NAC to airlift ATF from Kolkata

The officials of NAC have made a decision to airlift aviation turbine fuel (ATF) to soften the blow caused by fuel scarcity due to prolonged Terai unrest. Their carrier will be lifting the fuel from Kolkata, India.

NAC will also distribute half of the fuel to Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) and save the remaining half for itself to continue their services. NAC management officials decided to use one of its Boeing 757 aircraft which has the capacity to airlift 33 tons of ATF at a time.

Domestic airlines and national carrier assured the public that they will continue to provide their services until this festive season. The domestic airlines have also reduced their travel fare as their Dashain discount offer which will last until October 22.
