International Airline’s pilots are notified to refuel their aircrafts abroad
After the request of the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) officers filed a notice to airmen (NOTAM) alerting all aircrafts authorities to find alternate abroad ports to refuel their aircrafts before entering Nepal. According to the TIA officers, this move to stock up aviation turbine fuel (ATF) is likely to affect any long route airlines.
The unofficial trade block enforced by India has forced TIA officials to act on such difficult decision. The move will allow domestic airlines some window of continuity for limited extended time. The government officials are uncertain when Terai strikes will cool down and fuel shortages would come to an end.
Some Airlines like Korean and Dragon Air have already planned to refuel in Bangladesh. Other international airlines like Turkish and Air Arabia plan to refuel their tanks in New Delhi and Lucknow.
