NAC plans to replace 3 decades’ old Boeing 757-200 aircrafts
Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) is planning to get rid of unprofitable old Boeing aircrafts in an attempt to cut down their operational expenses brought on by increased fuel consumption, frequent maintenance cost and even expensive spare parts. The aircrafts are infeasible to further continue their regular flight as they are neither fuel efficient nor economical.
“Before executing current plan NAC will replace the two old Boeings with two new Airbus 330s in order to continue their flight services without causing any sort of flight disruption to the international destinations, according to Sugat Ratna Kansakar, managing director of the Nepal Airlines.” They intend to sell the aircrafts through global tender and even the plane is fairly old they hope to sell the aircrafts to some cargo operating airlines.
If everything goes according to the plan, NAC will be operating new Airbus within 18 months. NAC has set up 12 different divisions that is working on the procedures to buy 2 new Airbus 330s and operate them.
