Since Earthquake, Around 800 foreign aircraft landed at TIA
After the Destructive earthquake, about 8 hundred foreigner aircraft frequently landed and take off in TIA for relief supplies. According to the General Manager Birendra Shrestha of Tribhuvan International Airport’ in between these April 12 to May 5, 7 hundred and 77 different countries aircraft did flight for rescue and relief.
China has high number of arrivals amongst all. Regular flight along rescue and relief Flights unbearable for us to withstand that pressure of flights number yet we passed successfully and managed pretty well; said Dr shrestha on Wednesday. After the Earthquake, the number of flights from very next day for last 10 Days was in its height and we decided to operate airport for 24 hours to manage to situation ; Dr shrestha said.
