IL 76 Aircraft to air lift mortal remains of Indian Pilgrims

According to the local official, 17 Indian pilgrims were killed and 28 others got injured yesterday when a India-registered vehicle, operated by Shri Hare Tours and Travels of Gujarat state, plunged into a 100m deep downhill at Naubisenear Kathmandu. The pilgrims were heading home after their visit to Pashupatinath temple.

A team of Consular Wing officials helped to coordinate search and rescue operations and extend necessary assistance.Twelve people died instantly while five died during treatment. The injured passengers are still being treated at various hospitals.

The embassy has released the lists of dead/injured victims on their official website. “All the mortal bodies would be headed home on IL 76 aircraft which landed at about 11:33 this morning.
