Turkish Airlines Airbus A330-300 was denied takeoff when the tower controller saw flight TK30 was on the taxiway between runways 22L and 22R at Newark Liberty International Airport on August 7, 2021.
The aircraft (registration TC-JNI) lined up parallel towards runway 22R and achieved more than 80 knots when the tower notified the crew.
The Aviation Herald reports that the crew declined takeoff and slowed down about 1400 meters/4600 feet along the taxiway.
Flight TK30 departed from runway 22R one hour after the incident. It arrived safely in Istanbul nine hours later.
