Government monitoring helicopters in the Everest National Park region

The government has been monitoring helicopters that fly in the Everest National Park region.

The government has been monitoring wildlife trafficking and other illegal activities in Solukhumbu’s Khumbu Pasanglamu village, purportedly to take visitors on hikes and rescue tourists.

Following reports of suspicious events in the park in recent days, Everest National Park established a system requiring helicopters to fly only with entrance permission.

Bhumiraj Upadhyaya, Chief Conservation Officer of Sagarmatha National Park, said it is essential to supervise rescue operations, including helicopter rescue.
