After six months of inactivity owing to COVID-19 travel restrictions, Air Transat, Canada’s third-largest airline, launched its maiden commercial flights on July 30, 2021. The airline provides a comprehensive domestic travel schedule for Canadians and international flights connecting Calgary, Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, and Vancouver.
After a traumatic six-month absence from the skies, Air Transat will resume service this summer to various leisure destinations as far afield as Europe. It also intends to take advantage of rising domestic demand by adding more internal flights.

This summer, Air Transat is offering a comprehensive domestic travel schedule connecting Calgary, Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, and Vancouver for Canadians. This includes a first for the airline, exclusive direct flights between Quebec City and Vancouver. By connecting flights from Montreal, Toronto, and Quebec City, Canadians can travel to more overseas destinations.
Air Transat routes
Montreal-Punta Cana, Punta Cana-Montreal, and Montreal-Vancouver were the routes planned for the first day. These flights start off the airline’s summer schedule, which will comprise 24 trips to 16 locations across Canada, the United States, the South, and Europe at its peak.
The Air Transat TS374 flight from Montréal to Punta Cana took off at 11:44 a.m. An Airbus A321LR operated this route with the registration C-GOIF. This next-generation narrowbody will likewise operate the return flight to Montréal. Then, at 13:15 local time, Flight TS375 took off from Punta Cana. At 17:45, it landed in Canada again. A domestic flight from Montréal to Vancouver will be Air Transat’s third and final flight on its first day back in the sky. As a result of rising domestic demand, the airline wants to operate more internal routes.

USA and Europe is in plan
Air Transat will expand its international reach to complement its domestic offerings. The airline will fly to and from the neighboring United States (Fort Lauderdale and Orlando) and several Central American vacation locations. Long-haul flights are also on the way, with destinations including Portugal (Lisbon and Porto) and the United Kingdom (London).
Air Transat will also begin operating direct flights from Montreal to Cuba (Holguin and Varadero), the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana), France (Paris), Haiti (Port-au-Prince), Mexico (Cancun), Portugal (Lisbon), and the United States (Fort Lauderdale and Orlando). Flying direct from Toronto to Cuba (Holguin and Varadero), the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana), England (London), Mexico (Cancun), Portugal (Porto), and the United States (Fort Lauderdale and Orlando) will be possible. Direct flights to the United States will be available from Quebec City (Fort Lauderdale).
Overall, Air Transat’s hectic summer schedule will include 24 trips and 16 destinations. Three more Airbus A321LRs will be added to the carrier’s fleet, bringing the total number of these long-range narrowbodies to ten. Air Transat has added three new Airbus A321LR aircraft to its fleet, resulting in a total of these aircraft in its fleet to ten. By 2023, seven more are anticipated to be supplied in stages. The arrival of these planes complements the airline’s world-class fleet, which is among the most cutting-edge in the business.
