Vistara inaugurates the Delhi-Tokyo flight with its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner today. Flight VTI083 took off Indira Gandi International Airport at 3:13 local time and landed in Tokyo at 14:15 today. The Boeing 787, with the registration VT-TSD with three-class cabin configuration — economy, premium economy, and business class – flew for more than 7 hours 30 minutes for Tokyo.
On May 10, the Tata Group and Singapore Airlines joint venture Vistara stated that flight operations to Tokyo would begin on June 16 and later postponed to July 7.
Following India’s travel bubble agreement with Japan, the carrier would operate once a week between New Delhi and Tokyo (Haneda).
