Allegiant Air will begin offering direct flights between Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport and Austin, Texas.
Allegiant said that the flight would begin on November 18 with two flights each week. Allegiant currently serves Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport with 13 direct flights.

Four new cities have been added to the routes.
Allegiant is expanding its service to four additional cities as part of a 23-route expansion disclosed Tuesday. According to the statement, the proposal includes two major airports — Minneapolis/St. Paul and Washington Dulles. Flights to St. Paul would begin on October 8. Allegiant’s schedule at Washington Dulles would commence early November to introduce the first of two Florida routes. The airline previously operates about a half-dozen flights out of Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI). Meanwhile, Allegiant is adding many additional flights to several other sites, notably three to Nashville. Nashville’s additional routes include a direct flight to Palm Springs, California, beginning November 17.

In comparison to other carriers, Allegiant has a constrained flight schedule and often serves underserved areas. Allegiant services over 100 airports across the United States, with the majority located in the Midwest and New England. Allegiant had earned notoriety for operating an older fleet and performed many emergency landings with aborted take-offs due to technical problems.
Allegiant has shifted away from its aging McDonnell Douglas MD-80 aircraft in preference of an all-Airbus fleet, and it has avoided media stories over safety issues.
