Emirates will be deploying 30 Airbus A380 superjumbos to 15 cities across North America, Europe, and Asia on 129 weekly services in July.
Emirates has a fleet of 118 Airbus A380-800s. However, the Dubai-based airline is currently flying only 15 to 20 of them every week. After deploying 30 A380s also, it means roughly 25% of Emirates’ superjumbos will be returning into service.
Emirates will be deploying its superjumbos to New York JFK, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Toronto in North America; London Heathrow, Manchester, Munich, Frankfurt, Moscow, Paris, and Vienna in Europe; Amman, Cairo, Jeddah in the Middle East and to Guanzhou in Asia-Pacific region.
Emirates has planned to serve 90% of its pre-pandemic routes, operating 880 weekly flights. It will be serving 124 destinations by the end of July.
The airline will be resuming service to seven destinations, including Venice, Phuket, Mexico City, Miami, and Lyon. The airline said that leisure travelers and passengers on a family visit had boosted the bookings lately.
Emirates Chairman and CEO Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said that Emirates is working hard to rebuild its network and secure access to more destinations. In a statement, the airlines’ CEO said:
“We are pleased by the recent developments as several nations have started to turn the clock and reopen for foreign tourists, and we see clear indications of cooped interest wherever restrictions have eased.”
