Nepal Army helicopter rescued people stranded on the top of Hotel

A Nepal Army team rescued people stranded on the top of Hotel Rose in Sindhupalchowk’s Melamchi Bazaar. They were roped out of the MI17 helicopter.

They were trapped after being engulfed in floodwaters. They had ascended to the hotel’s roof and were pleading for assistance. The Rose Hotel’s bottom floor was inundated, where they were staying.

According to Nepal Army Spokesperson Santosh Ballabh Poudel, a highly trained crew led by a Nepal Army MI17 helicopter dispatched for search and rescue operations in Sindhupalchowk’s flood landslide-affected regions.

On Tuesday evening, seven persons were killed in floods and landslides in Helambu and Melamchi in Sindhupalchowk district on Tuesday evening, Chief District Officer Arun Pokharel said. Roads and bridges have been swept away, causing major traffic disruptions.
