United Airlines started direct daily flight connecting its New York and Johannesburg

United Airlines launched its first direct daily flight connecting its New York hub at Newark Liberty International Airport and Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport.

The inaugural flight is operated by B787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, which is state-of-the-art. United would provide more direct flights into South Africa than any other US carrier, which would remain the sole airline operating a daily direct service between Johannesburg and New York.

South Africa officially opened for tourists in November 2020, with foreign tourists required to show proofs of a negative COVID-19 PCR test done within 72 hours of their arrival. It’s mandatory to wear masks in the public area following the current health and safety standards that have remained in place.

Johannesburg, South Africa’s biggest city, is also one of the country’s leading cultural centers, with several landmarks and renowned organizations, museums, theaters, galleries, and libraries. It’s also a great place to start exploring the remainder of the nation’s diverse, vivid scenery, including everything from beautiful coasts to grassy plains, highlands, and deserts. The busy provinces of South Africa provide several possibilities to learn about the region’s unique history and culture, witness native animals and enjoy world-class lodgings and culinary experiences.
