United Airlines will resume its flight between San Francisco and Papeete on Thursday this week. This thrice-weekly service was suspended back in February due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
American’s looking to spend their holidays in a tropical paradise can now travel the tropical French overseas territory onboard United Airlines thrice a week. Tahiti, Bora Bora, and multiple other islands comprise French Polynesia.
Authorities have opened their borders to American’s and people who have been in the United States for at least 30 days before departure. French Polynesia is famous for its overwater-built bungalows and aqua blue-colored coral lagoons mainly.
French Polynesia is now open without a quarantine for vaccinated people. They must show proof of a COVID vaccination or recovery from a previous infection before departure.
However, if the traveler is not vaccinated and doesn’t have a proof of recovery document either, he/she must quarantine for ten days.All travelers must fill out a health declaration through French Polynesias’ Electronic Travel Information System before boarding their flight. A gate agent will collect the forms.
The Chicago-based airline will deploy its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners configured with 48 business class seats, 21 Premium seats, and 188 in Economy class.
Apart from United Airlines, Air Tahiti Nui and Air France also operate flights from the mainland United States.
