Although the government has banned the passengers departing abroad by making Nepal a transit point, it has allowed ten flights a week for Indian citizens. At the request of the Indian embassy, ten one-way flights a week have been allowed to various destinations of Saudi Arabia.
Nepal Airlines is allowed to operate seven and Himalayan Airlines 3 flights a week. The Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation has permitted the flight after receiving a letter from the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy.
On the same day as the request of the Indian Embassy, the Ministry of External Affairs had recommended to the Ministry of Tourism for flight permission as per the demand. The Ministry of Tourism has permitted Indian nationals to take them to Saudi Arabia for employment. The ministry had sent a letter to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal asking it to implement the permit.
Stating that the risk of the new variant of Corona has increased, the Immigration Department had banned passengers from traveling to other destinations through transit.
Even though Saudi has imposed a travel ban on India, it still allows Nepal. Taking advantage of this, Indian citizens have started departing to Saudi for employment through Nepal.
