An agreement has been signed between the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal and CG Infrata-BDA (JV) of India to develop the master plan of Nijgadh International Airport.
Raj Kumar Chhetri, Speaker of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, confirmed that Nepal’s Civil Aviation Authority had entered into an understanding with CG Infrata-BDA (JV) to draft a revised master plan for the International Airport of Nijgadh. Earlier, a letter of interest to the company was given by CAAN to devise a master plan.
He said, “It was agreed that the CG Infrata-BDA (JV) company should have prepared the airport’s master plan within the next 13 months.” He said, “The cost of constructing the master plan is Rs 298.9 million.”
Last September, Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai, then Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, instructed the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal to devise a master plan to take Nijgadh International Airport’s work forward as soon as possible. CAAN chose the company, following the ministry’s guidance for the development of the master plan.
