Spicejet leased Maldivian Aero DHC-6 flew for the first time from Male to Ahmedabad

The seaplane services between Maldives and India started after the Maldivian Aero DHC-6 Twin otter registered with 8Q-ISC landed Kochi today. The aircraft will touch Ahmedabad via Goa on Monday. Maldives’ national airline, Maldivian crew, to commence the very first seaplane service in India. SpiceJet airline is expected to fly the seaplane mostly with additional assistance from Maldivan’s national airline crews.

SpiceJet initiation for seaplane

SpiceJet deployed seaplanes and reviewed routes across Mumbai and other parts of India in 2017, signaling future services. Later this month, SpiceJet is introducing first ever seaplane operation, following years of curiosity. Also, with new operations, the carrier aims to target more travelers.
If SpiceJet can obtain the requisite environmental and regulatory permissions, flights could begin as soon as October 31.

Regular Seaplane service from India

The operation is scheduled to begin on October 31, and there will be four regular flights to Male from Male to India. For journeys with a fare of approximately RS 4,800, SpiceJet can use this leased aircraft. Twelve people can accommodate the seaplane.

Official Inauguration

India’s Pm Narendra Modi would unveil the very first seaplane services in Gujarat on October 31. The Gujarat state government has declared that perhaps the state’s seaplane operation would commence on October 31. The first flight would then lift off from the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad to the Solidarity Monument in Kevadia Colony throughout the Narmada region.

As per a Gujarat government source, the voyage through seaplane would be around an hour.

Only after PM Modi shows involved in connecting the country developing water ports can the implementation of seaplane have begun. By the end of August, the Indian Ministry of Aviation had authorized 78 new routes.
