In December, Hawaiian Airlines is expected to resume its direct flights to Boston and New York. The operation will restart with Airbus A330 flights from Honolulu to Boston and New York. Flying from Honolulu to Boston requires about 10 hours. Hawaiian Airlines would operate two weekly flights from Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport to Boston’s Logan International Airport on Mondays and Fridays starting December 18.
In addition to its route to Boston, Hawaiian Airlines has also confirmed that it will begin services three days a week to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City and regular services to California’s Long Beach Airport.
The departures to New York City are scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, whereas the flights to Honolulu will take place on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, as per the planned route.
The statement even said that Hawaiian Airlines is restoring direct flights between Līh’ e Airport and Los Angeles and Oakland, Calif., and even between Kahului Airport and San Diego and San Francisco. This ensures the Hawaiian Airlines would be serving all its 13 mainland cities in the U.S., according to the announcement.
A compulsory quarantine with arrivals to Hawaii is in effect for about seven months, but that modified on October 15 because the state launched a post-arrival coronavirus monitoring program. Travelers will now escape the 14-day quarantine within 72 hours of the final leg of departure with evidence of a negative Covid-19 state-approved examination.
For Christmas and the holiday travel season, Hawaiian service should start right in time, offering cooped-up holiday travelers more ways to get through Hawaii just before the winter settles in around the U.S.
