Air India One, Boeing 777 aircraft landed today

The much-awaited Air India One, aircraft for Indian President, Vice President, and Prime Minister has landed India today. The custom-made B777 airplane hadĀ arrived later today in Delhi, India from Texas, US, according to sources.

The aircraft was anticipated to be delivered to Air India throughout August by aircraft manufacturer Boeing; however, the delivery was deferred due to technical issues.

Air India One specifications

The aircraft has its own missile defense device named the Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures (LAIRCM) and Self-Protection Suites (SPS), which will combat missile attacks. Regarding protective measures, the planes are on the line with Air Force One of the US President. The two Boeing 777 aircraft now have the Self-Protection Suites (SPS), which has been included in US President aircraft named as Air Force One. The Interior of the Aircraft includes a wide cabin interior, mini-medical center, meeting room, and seating for a security team.

SPS provides broad infrared aircraft defensive measures, a distributing mechanism for countermeasures, and an advanced electronic technology defensive package. Through disrupting their guidance networks, these defense systems will disrupt radar detection signals and deflect thermally-seeking missiles. India’s first specialized aircraft for President, Vice President, and Prime Minister currently fly through Air India, a state-run airline. The Boeing 777 airplane will be flown through the Indian Air Force pilots and not by Air India pilots.
