The fourth phase of the repatriation flights from 31 July to 8 August

Nepal Airlines Corporation and Himalaya Airlines, two Nepalese airlines, have stated the repatriation schedule for Nepalese stranded abroad.

Nepalese Airlines has drawn up a flight schedule for the fourth phase of the repatriate flight from 31 July to 8 August.

Based on the current repatriation flight schedule released by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal Airlines would then conduct a count of 18 flights by 8 August. The airlines will operate services to Dubai in the UAE, Doha in Qatar, Dammam, and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and Narita in Japan.

Himalaya would, therefore, fly a total of 18 flights from 30 July to 7 August. Chartered flights will be flown to Kunming, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Kuala Lumpur, and Dammam.

The government agreed to give preference to the repatriation of Nepalese nationals residing in third countries. As per the decision of the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC), the Nepalese would be repatriated at different stages.

Foreign airlines would also operate charter flights from 31 July to 8 August to repatriate the Nepalese from various countries. Jazeera Airways would fly from Kuwait, Etihad from Abu Dhabi, Air Arabia from Sharjah, and Qatar Airways from Doha. Malindo Air will proceed to shuttle from Kuala Lumpur at the same time.

So far, more than 35,000 Nepalese have finally returned. The Government also has agreed to resume domestic and international commercial flights on 17 August 2020. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has reported that only one-third of daily flights will commence after five months of suspension.
