The operation of Bhairahawa Airport has been postponed for one year

The operation of the international airport under construction in Bhairahawa has been postponed for one year. Although it was announced to be operational in March 2020, the government has postponed it for another year.
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai has said that the construction period has been extended till December 2020 and the new target is to start flights by March 2021. He told that the construction work was hampered by the corona virus and that it would take some more time for construction.

The Chinese company has taken over the construction of the airport.
