Jazeera Airways repatriation flight to Kathmandu on Thursday

A Jazeera Airways aircraft carrying stranded Nepali nationals will arrive Kathmandu, tomorrow. This flight is being operated to airlift the Nepali Citizens to be repatriated from various parts of the world.

According to officials at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Jazeera Airways Flight J9-1541 and J9-1543 aircraft, Airbus A320, carrying Nepali citizens are scheduled to land at the airport at around 11:30 and 13:30 Hours respectively tomorrow.

The Jazeera Airways was scheduled to fly Tribhuvan International Airport today, due to the time factor and the facility at both the airport the airline had rescheduled the flight for tomorrow.

The flight will bring back home the people corresponding to the government’s plan to evacuate Nepalis stranded abroad.

According to Nepali Ambassador for Kuwait Durga Bhandari, there are around 3,000 Nepalis who have received amnesty from the Kuwait government.

Likewise, the Government of Nepal has scheduled a total of 67 repatriation flights to evacuate Nepalese stranded in different countries.

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) has prepared a schedule for repatriation flights starting from today (June 11) to June 25.
Nepal Airlines Corporation, the national flag will be operating 24 flights while Himalaya Airlines, the private airline will be operating 19 flights, and other foreign airlines will conduct 24 flights.

June 14: NAC’s wide-body aircraft will fly to Dhaka, Bangladesh to repatriate passengers.

June 15: NAC’s wide-body aircraft will fly to the Maldives while its narrow-body aircraft to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to repatriate passengers. While one of Himalaya Airlines aircraft will fly to Saudi Arabia and the other aircraft will fly to Cambodia and Singapore. Two foreign airlines from one from Muscat, Oman and the other destination (yet to be decided) will fly to Kathmandu to bring back stranded passengers.

June 16: NAC will fly to United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar while one flight of Himalaya Airlines will fly to Kuwait, and another flight will bring passengers from Sri Lanka and Maldives.

June 17: NAC will fly to Australia, Thailand and Bahrain. The same day, Himalaya Airlines will fly to Bangladesh and Qatar. Two Foreign airlines will be conducting repatriation flights — one from the United States and the other destination (yet to be decided).

June 18: NAC will fly to Saudi Arabia and UAE, while Himalaya Airlines will fly to Malaysia and Oman to evacuate Nepalese.

June 19: NAC will fly to Japan and Kuwait, while Himalaya Airlines will fly to Saudi Arabia and Nigeria.

June 20: NAC will fly to Cyprus, Malaysia and Qatar. While Himalaya Airlines will fly to UAE and Bangladesh. Two foreign airlines will be conducting repatriation flights one will be from Europe and the other destination (yet to be decided).

June 21: NAC will fly to South Korea and Oman, while Himalaya Airlines will fly to Kuwait and Malaysia.

June 22: NAC will fly to Australia and Thailand, while Himalaya Airlines will fly to Pakistan and Qatar to bring back stranded Nepalis.

June 23: NAC will fly to Japan and Maldives, while Himalaya Airlines will fly to Uganda.

June 24: NAC will fly to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

June 25: NAC will fly to the United States while Himalaya Airlines will bring back stranded Nepali citizens from Cyprus and Israel.

The destination of 16 flights scheduled for foreign airlines is yet to be decided.

The government has prepared a list of 24,148 Nepalis across 30 different destinations that need to be rescued urgently.

The ministry however stated that the schedule might be revised based on the number of passengers. The flight will be conducted with only 85 percent of occupancy. The passengers must hold a negative report of either PCR or RDT test before booking the flights.

According to the ministry, airline companies have to take responsibility for ticketing in coordination with respective embassies. After they arrive at TIA, the passengers will have to follow the prepared quarantine measures.
