Nepal Airlines departing for Narita and Air Arabia visiting to Kathmandu today

Japanese Passengers and others stranded in Nepal due to lockdown are going back to their home country today with a chartered Nepal airlines A330 aircraft. As per the source Nepal Airlines wide body with registration ‘9N-ALZ’ Flight Number RA-4331 is scheduled to depart from Kathmandu at 21:00 Hrs(local time) for Narita, Japan in command with Capt. Samajh Kumar Shrestha.

In the mean time Air Arabia Airbus A320 Flight No. G9-1753 is scheduled to land at Kathmandu at 12:45 hours (local time). As per the source, this flight for the Air Arabia is a cargo flight from Saharja and will return from Kathmandu at 14:45. Two days ago, Air Arabia had accomplished first repatriation flight from UAE to Kathmandu with 168 Nepalese passengers.

The rescue flights will continue to operate until the airport reopens. CAAN has issued a circular yesterday stating that Nepal has suspended all the commercial flights except repatriation flights and those repatriation flights should be initiated through diplomatic channel and discouraged the advance bookings from travel agencies.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has decided to ban all charter flights abroad for the time being after complaints of passengers being overcharged in the name of charter flights. The CAAN also decided on Saturday to allow the flight only if the embassy of a country directly contacts it in case of emergency. One of the CAAN officials stated Aviation Nepal News that chartered flights have been canceled due to complaints that ticketing and travel companies are compelling passengers to buy expensive tickets.

Nepal has banned all the commercial flights from 24 March 2020.
