National flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation, has prepared to send its wide-body aircraft to Australia today to evacuate the Australian citizens who are living here amid the coronavirus infection lockdown.
The Australian Embassy in Kathmandu had taken initiatives to take the Australians back home upon multiple requests from themselves and other stakeholders which was the second repatriation flight organized by the Embassy.
An Airbus A330, ‘9N-ALY’ Flight RA 4133 is scheduled to be airborne Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu today at 13:30 PM and is scheduled to reach Sydney Airport at 07:25 AM (local time) the next day May 07 making a technical Stop at Kuala Lumpur Airport in Malaysia one way. The carrier will evacuate a total of 281 passengers today from TIA.
The crews for the flight are Capt. Vijay Lama, Capt. Srawan Rijal, Capt. James Edward Keep, Capt. Saajh Kumar Shrestha, Sr. F/D Chakra Nakarmi, G/E Pawan Kumar Karwal, Sr. Tech. Devendra Pun, L/M Ujjwal Upreti, and two sets of Cabin Crews.
Of late, many European countries have been evacuating their citizens from Nepal. They have been flying Qatar Airways aircraft for this purpose. Nepal Airlines cannot fly to any country in Europe due to the persistent EU ban.
Meanwhile, an aircraft of the NAC next airbus ‘9N-ALZ’ will take off the Kathmandu airport for Beijing Capital International Airport of China this afternoon to fetch various medical equipment required in the test of suspected COVID-19 patients and their treatment.
