Considering the pandemic of COVID-19, the Private owned Himalaya Airlines last week flew two chartered cargo flights to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and Changsha Huanghua International Airport in China. The mission of the medical charter flight amidst the ‘COVID-19’ lockdown to airlift the medical equipment and supplies from China for Corona prevention and cure in the country has been accomplished with its return.
An Airbus A320-214, 9N ALV, Flight H9 9871 is scheduled to airborne Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu today at 5:45 PM and is scheduled to reach Changsha Huanghua International Airport at 00:05 AM (local time) the next day May 03. The aircraft will be heading back with medical supplies as Flight ‘H9-9872’ to Kathmandu.
Himalaya has an already established air link with Changsha. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, Himalaya had launched weekly direct flights to Changsha, the capital of central China’s Hunan province, from November 20, 2019.
Having acquired the special permission from CAAN, the operating crew for the Flight will be Capt. Jasvinder Singh Cheema, Capt. Sudeep Kumar Bista and First Officers Prakash Bahadur Shrestha, Avilakh Thapa. The Crews for the flight will take all necessary precautions to follow the health safety measures as directed by the Government of Nepal. The cargo includes COVID-19 medical supplies such as medical equipment, testing kits, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), masks/gloves, etc.
