A fight of Buddha Air ATR 42 ‘9N-AIT’ departed for Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Dhaka Today carrying 16 Bangladeshi nationals from Kathmandu.
As per a source, the aircraft will return from Dhaka today evening.
Likewise, Buddha Air had also conducted a chartered flight to Dhaka in Bangladesh to evacuate a severely ill Nepal student residing in Bangladesh on April 28. The Embassy of Bangladesh in Nepal on April 14 repatriated 13 Bangladeshi nationals on Tuesday with the same carrier, Buddha Air.
The government of Nepal has been suspending domestic and international flights as well, regularly to control the movement of people from one place to another.
It is the third time that the Government of Nepal extended the deadline of international flight suspension after first imposing the measure from March 22 to March 31. Earlier, the government had decided to extend the deadline for international flight suspension until April 15, which was further extended till April 30.
There have been 34 international chartered flights from Nepal since the country went into the lockdown. Foreign countries had conducted international chartered flights to rescue their citizens stranded in Nepal without prior information.
According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), a total of 4, 532 foreigners have left Nepal for their respective countries in the period between March 24 to April 23.
