A helpless Nepali passenger holding British passport at Tribhuvan International Airport for last 4 days. The passenger, who arrived in Nepal Airlines from Hong Kong last Saturday, was not allowed entry due to foreign passports.
He is currently inside the deport area of the immigration department.
Mr. Sagar Acharya, chief of the Airport Immigration Office, added .’He is a foreigner. Accordingly, foreigners are restricted from entering”. He said Nepal Airlines had the responsibility of keeping the missing persons back or returning them. He said airlines should take all the responsibilities of accommodation and others however right now the immigration department is taking care of him.
Meanwhile, Nepal Airlines said that there was a problem due to Nepal immigration.
Ganesh Bahadur Chand, the managing director of the airlines, told that the problem was caused by Nepal’s immigration.
“If immigration didn’t stop that day, we could have sent him from Silk Air to Singapore,” said Chand. He said immigration should take all the responsibilities of that passenger.
