Buddha Air flight schedule to Kolkata changed

Leading private carrier of Nepal, Buddha Air has changed its flight schedule to Kolkata.

The airline which started its flight service on new international sector from May end changed the flight schedule effective from July 1st.

The airline used to operate flight at 8:00AM to Kolkata from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and return at 10:30 AM back to Kathmandu.

Now the airline will be operating flight at 7AM in Kathmandu-Kolkata sector and make return flight at 9:05 AM from Kolkata to Kathmandu.

The airline had previously stated to commence flight from September 1st last year however; the airline had to postpone the flight due to Lok Sabha Election of India and was rescheduled to 27 May.

The airline has been conducting flights on the pre-scheduled routine which is 3 weekly Kolkata flight on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The fare for the 2 way sector is NRs 22,000 per person while the cost for one way from Kathmandu-Kolkata is NRs. 10,440 and NRs. 11,560 for Kolkata-Kathmandu flights.

The airline has been operating flights with its ATR72-500 series aircraft.

Buddha Air has also stated to operate direct flights to another Indian city, Guhawati from August 3.

The airline currently owns 12 aircraft that includes 2 Beechcraft B1900D, 3 ATR 42-320 and 7 ATR 72-500 series aircraft. The airline will be adding 2 more ATR 72 series aircraft to extend their flight operation to different cities of India.

The airline has also proposed plan to build hanger at Pokhara Regional International Airport so as to commence international flight from the airport after the airport comes into operation.

The airline is providing services to Nepalgunj, Bhairahawa, Bharatpur, Simara, Janakpur, Biratnagar, Bhadrapur, Pokhara, Dhangadi, Birendranagar and Tumlingtar from TIA along with Mountain Flights as well as flights to Indian city Varanasi.
