Bilateral flight service between Nepal and Vietnam is set to be concluded after 4 years since the air service agreement was done between the countries. The agreement is set to be revised and signed increasing flight possibility between the countries.
Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) stated that the flight agreement is set to be made focusing on Buddhist tourists residing at both countries. The ministry stated that the air service is going to be revised focusing on Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA).
Currently, there are no direct flights between the 2 countries.
Officials at the ministry stated that the work to revise the air service agreement is in final stage and the report will be sent to Ministry of Finance and then to Ministry of Law. After taking the opinion from both the ministry, the report will be presented in Parliament and after the report gets passed, the agreement process will be preceded.
The air service agreement is set to be signed during the honorable Prime Minister K.P Oli’s visit to Vietnam. PM Oli is set to visit Vietnam this week and after the agreement, Nepal Airlines will be eligible for 9 weekly flights.
Nepal Airlines had made possibility study on flight to new destination which included Vietnam. Nepal has also made Air Serivce Agreement with other 39 countries as well.
