New ATR 72-500 series aircraft of Yeti Airlines has landed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) today.
This aircraft with the Nepalese Registration no. ‘9N ANC’ landed at around 1:40PM at TIA.
Bhim Raj Rai, Spokesperson and senior manager of Yeti Airlines stated that the aircraft landed at TIA under the command of Captain Gyan Prakash Rai and Kamal KC departed from Bangkok.
The carrier is expanding its fleets with the goal of providing additional facilities and reliable service to the destinations where the airline has been conducting scheduled flights.
Spokesperson Rai stated that the carrier will commence flights with its recently received ATR after completing all documents procedure.
Yeti Airlines welcomed 3rd ATR with MSN-776 that landed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on September 18, 2018, at 02:10 PM NST approximately at 1450 hours after its flight from France-Toulouse-Italy-Egypt via Muscat to Kathmandu Nepal. The airline had received second ATR 72-500 with registration ‘9N-AMM’ on September 15, 2017, whereas its first-ever ATR 72-212A series aircraft registered with ‘9N-AMN’ landed on July 22, 2017, in Nepal.
The ATR72-500 is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft manufactured by the French-Italian consortium ATR. With it’s superior build and performance the ATR72 has become one of the most successful regional carriers in the world, steadily expanding and entering into new global markets.
ATR 72-500 emits about 50% less CO2 per passenger-km than new-generation jets and up to three times less CO2 than older ones. Compared to a car, the ATR 72-500’s carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per seat/km on a 200-Nm (370 km) sector are 15% lower.
Currently, Yeti Airlines owns 6 BAE Jetstream 41 and 3 ATR 72-500 operating flights to Biratnagar, Pokhara, Bhadrapur, Bharatpur, Janakpur, Bhairahawa, and Nepalgunj along with mountain flights while its subsidiary Tara Air fleet includes two Dornier Do 228, three De Havilland Canada DHC-6-300 Twin Otter and one Viking Air DHC-6-400 Twin Otter operating flights to Simikot, Jomsom, Bajura, Jumla, Lukla, Phaplu Rara and so on.
