The flag carrier of Nepal, Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has revised its international flight schedules.
The airline revised the flight schedule so as to cope with schedule change in the sole international airport of the country Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). The flight schedule of the airport is stated to be changed due to rehabilitation work of the airport which is scheduled to begin from April 1.
The new schedule will come into effect from 1st April 2019 to 30th June 2019.
Flight destination of flight number RA-231 and RA-232 has been changed to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) from Dubai International Airport (DXB).
Similarly, flight numbers RA-217, RA-218, RA-225, RA-226, RA-409, RA-410, RA-239, and RA-240 have changed their time while flight numbers RA-415 and RA-416 have changed the operation day.
Flight number RA-201, RA-202, RA-401, RA-402, RA-205 and RA-206 schedules remain same.
The sole international airport of Nepal Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) is set to be shut down for 10 hours daily from April 1, 2019 (Chaitra 18) for accommodating the runway extension project.
The airport will remain closed from 10 pm to 8 am in the morning halting all the flight operations and most of the flight schedule is expected to be rescheduled and changed to cope with the changing time along with NAC.
The runway of TIA constructed in 1975, is going to be upgraded for the first time. Since the runway is going to be renovated, the airline companies are fully coordinating to compensate for the time due to the airport to be closed for 10 hours daily.
