Saurya Airlines, the private airline company of Nepal is set to resume its regular flights from 8th March after it cleared first installment from pending service charge of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).
TIA Civil Aviation Office halted Saurya flights for almost 4 months as the airline hesitated to clear the airport service charge even after repetitive warning.
Saurya Airlines which is already procured by the Indian company Kuber Group paid first installment of Rs50 lakhs to TIA.
The company is required to pay a total of NRs. 4 crore to TIA. As per the information from TIA Chief Mr. Raj Kumar Chhetri, the airline must pay NRs. 5 Million within next 10 days and remaining amount within 2 months.
The officials from the airline said that they have already paid first installment and will clear remaining amount within a month.
Saurya Airlines’ aircraft remained grounded after TIA halted from 27th November 2018. The airline company was in financial crisis until the Indian company Kuber group purchased it with an estimated amount of NRs. 63 crores.
At present, Saurya owns two CRJ-200 aircraft and is planning to add 3 ATR aircraft in near future. The current flight destination of Saurya Airlines are Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Bhadrapur, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi.
