Buddha Air has started to work in expanding flight access to the international market.
Buddha Air has prepared to open a new airline company named ‘Buddha Air International’ in Pokhara.
The carrier will be opening new company after completing the economy and technical issues within 6 months.
According to the plan, the name of new company will be ‘Buddha Air international’. Buddha Air has planned the strategy targeting international flights after high number of tourists attracted in Pokhara.
Rupesh Joshi, Marketing Director of Buddha Air informed that the carrier has plan to expand the flights services in international level by establishing a company in Pokhara.
The construction of Pokhara Regional International Airport is expected to complete in 2020 and till then Buddha Air is preparing to set up a company and to complete aircraft purchasing processes.
“Tribhuvan International Airport is too congested. The government has plan to make a regional international airport by expanding and upgrading Pokhara Airport. It will take a long time for commencing international flights so we have planned open a company from present time,” said Marketing Director Joshi.
It is expected to take 2 years to complete the construction and up-gradation work of Pokhara Airport. The authority must permit permission and issue other authorities in order to conduct international flights.
According to Joshi, the concept of opening new company is in initial stage. The carrier has also planning to set up new company as a public company. Buddha Air has chosen to extend international flights operation over the extending domestic flights.
Buddha Air has license to conduct international flights. Currently, the carrier conducts 2 flights weekly in Vanarasi of India.
Similarly, the carrier is planning to conduct flights to Kolkata from March. Joshi informed that the carrier will be operating three flights weekly on Monday, Wednesday and Friday in Kolkata.
According to him, two aircraft will be arriving in February,2019. The airline currently owns 11 aircraft that includes 2 Beechcraft B1900D, 3 ATR 42-320 and 6 ATR 72-500 series aircraft. The airline will be adding 2 more ATR 72 series aircraft to extend their flight operation to different cities of India.
The airlines is providing services to Nepalgunj, Bhairahawa, Bharatpur, Simara, Janakpur, Biratnagar, Bhadrapur, Pokhara, Dhangadi and Tumlingtar from TIA along with Mountain Flights. Buddha Air recently celebrated its completion of 21 years of service in Nepali Aviation Market with ATR company officials.
