Nepal Airlines Corporation’s (NAC) Airbus A330-243 ‘Annapurna’ with registration ‘9N-ALY’ will make regular flights from Wednesday (Tomorrow). Engineering department of the corporation stated that the maintenance of A330 has reached the last phase and set to operate regular flights.
Currently grounded A330 is undergoing maintenance at the NAC hanger. After the completion of repair and maintenance of the aircraft, the corporation claimed to overcome the flight delay problem.
The corporation, which has been operating international flights with its two wide-body aircraft is having a problem with flights delay as both aircraft have been facing obstacles lately.
The aircraft which had been grounded around couple of weeks back at Doha is undergoing maintenance as the fault in its braking system and cargo door was seen.
After the same problem was repeated on Tribhuvan International Airport on last Thursday, the situation has made the corporation to change the braking system. The AAR company which sold A330 will take responsibilities of the cost of changing braking system.
According to the purchase agreement, after the new braking system has been connected, the corporation has to return back old breaking system to AAR company.
The aircraft was also grounded in Doha due to problem in braking system. The pilot of the flight had mentioned an abnormality in the aircraft’s brake whereas a Qatar’s aircraft engineer had stated that the problem was in the indicator instead. Later after repairing the aircraft operated as scheduled and after the problem was seen it now has been grounded in TIA for further inspection and maintenance.
National flag carrier received its first wide-body aircraft A330-243 ‘Annapurna’ with registration ‘9N-ALY’ on June 28, 2018 that started its commercial operation to Doha from 1st August 2018 and expanded its destination. The aircraft powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines features a two-class cabin configuration that will seat a total of 274 passengers—18 in business class and 256 in economy class.
