Nepal Airlines widening the domestic network to add service to Tumlingtar

Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) which has been increasing flights in domestic sector lately has planned to recommence flight to Tumlingtar Airport. The airline which halted the flights to the airport around 5 years back is expecting to operate to the airport soon.

The airline is planning to operate to the airport after Deepawali of this year or by the end of coming month. Previously, the carrier used to operate in Tumlingtar-Biratnagar as well as Tumlingtar-Kathmandu routes and might be operating in same route once again. An airline official stated that the flight will be recommenced as the passenger traffic is high lately and the demand on the sector has increased.

Previously the flights were stopped due to lack of aircraft and twin-otters being in phase-out stage. Now, after increment in fleet number, the airline is trying to resume conducting flights to the airport.

Locals had been pleading to operate flights from the airport from the government owned carrier as it provided services in low cost but till now it wasn’t being conducted. Now the locals are happy with the news of the airline operating to the airport.

Other domestic carrier like Buddha and Yeti are performing daily flights and other airlines also perform flights to the airport in regular and occasional basis.
