Salle Airport located at Rukum has resumed its flight operations after remaining out of operation for three months. Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has announced to operate flights from October 10, 2018 (today).
The corporation started providing air service to Salle Airport after conducting scheduled flights to Rukum.
According to the source, the corporation will operate 1 flight between Kathmandu-Rukum-Nepalgunj on Sunday and 1 flight between Nepalgunj-Rukum-Kathmandu on Monday as per the previous schedule. Previously, the corporation halted its services to rural areas due to lack of aircraft and grounded aircraft.
Local people are glad after the air services have been recommended during the festive season.
Rukum district features another airport named as Chaurjahari but the airport has been closed for nearly 1 and half years. The flights of NAC to Chaurjahari airport had canceled all flights since the second week of Jestha 2074. As per the information, the air traffic service has been closed due to technical reasons. The flight has been closed due to the lack of passengers instead the flights have been shifted to headquarter at Salle Airport.
