Balewa Airport which has been out of operation for the last three months is likely to resume its operation. The airport halted the service following the technical glitch in the twin-otter aircraft which can only operate to the airport and Tara Air closed its operation after an incident.
According to Baglung Municipality – 14, the airport will recommence its operation from October 11, 2018. Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) will land at Balewa Airport from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on Thursday. Even though Tara Air will not conduct flight immediately, NAC has announced to operate flight weekly.
Locals are excited after hearing the information about airport resuming its operation.
According to the NAC officials, tickets of October 11 have been booked already. According to Baglung Municipality, the flight will be held regularly as the rainy season has ended and officials are planning to upgrade the airport to be able to operate throughout the year.
