Yeti Airlines’ newly arrived ATR 72-500 aircraft with registration ‘9N-ALN’ is undergoing livery implantation.
Mr. Bhim Raj Rai, Ground Handling Manager of Yeti Airlines stated that the aircraft is now under the phase of changing its livery from Polar White to the airline official livery. The aircraft is being painted at Tribhuvan International Airport.
The aircraft livery will embrace the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) logo of UN which especially promotes awareness to reduce poverty, improve well being and protect the environment. The carrier has aimed to operate the commercial flight with its ATR within 12-15 days.
Mr.Rai said that all the formal documents required for flight permission have been submitted to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) and now it depends upon the authority for the time they will take for providing authorization.
3rd ATR of Yeti Airlines landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at 02:10 PM NST under the command of Captain Pramod Poudel, Captain Ramod Kunwar Shrestha, and Captain Surendra Kunwar on September 18, 2018. The crew members on board were flight dispatcher Mr. Santa Prajapati, Senior Engineer Mr. Suresh Kumar Bajracharya& CAAN representative Mr. Bharat Raj Parajuli. The aircraft had departed from Francazal Airport at Toulouse, France and was en-route Egypt, Muscat in Oman and Kathmandu, as desired air route.
The ATR72-500 is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft manufactured by the French-Italian consortium ATR. With its superior build and performance, the ATR72 has become one of the most successful regional carriers in the world, steadily expanding and entering into new global markets.
With the addition of this aircraft, Yeti Airlines has the plan to expand its ATR72 operations to Bhadrapur and Pokhara – and will help facilitate Nepal to achieve its target of 2 million tourist arrivals by the year 2020.
Yeti Airlines commenced its operations in 1998. Yeti Airlines now operate three ATR72-500 and six BAE Systems Jetstream 41 aircraft. Along with Tara Air, it’s sister airline which operates two Dornier Do228 and four DHC6 Twin Otter aircraft, Yeti Airlines operates the widest network of flight routes in Nepal.
