The Ministry for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA) has formed a four member team on September 9, 2018, for the investigation of the catastrophic accident of Altitude Air at SatyaDevi Area forest of Dhading district at 5500 feet killing 6 peoples on board.
The precise circumstances are yet to be discovered. For probing the cause behind the mishap, investigation team has been set. The three-member team led by Joint Secretary of MoCTCA Mr. Buddhi Sagar Lamichhane, Senior Captain Siddhartha Jung Gurung from Simrik Air, Chief Engineer Meghendra Kumar Shrestha of Summit Air according to the statement released by Ministry. The investigation will be framed and put into the action as per the reference derived from ICAO Annex-13 Accident Investigation and Civil Aviation Act (Accident Investigation) 2071 Chapter (10).
There were seven people on-board including one crew. The deceased on the crash are identified as Captain Nischal K.C., Japanese national Hiromi Komatsu (68), Nepali citizens namely Dilli Bahadur Gurung (40), Hira Sherpa of (37), Chowang Sherpa (22) and Sunil Tamang (22). The crash resulted in ending causing fatality of both six people on-board including crew. Lho Ani Dolma Diki was rescued safe by Simrik Air Bell 407GXP ‘9N-ALT’ Helicopter and is currently breathing her normal breaths at Medicity Hospital.
The bodies of deceased people recovered from an Altitude Air helicopter crash site have been brought to Kathmandu today. The bodies were brought to Trishuli Hospital, Bidur, Nuwakot today morning and then airlifted to TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj, Kathmandu for Autopsy. The kin of the deceased will would receive the bodies after Autopsy.
An H125 single-engine helicopter with call sign ‘9N-ALS’ was en-route to Kathmandu from Samagaun, Gorkha transporting passengers. The Helicopter which was scheduled to Land Kathmandu by 08:18 AM NST from Samagaun but went missing after it lost a radio communication with Kathmandu tower after flying some 20 miles. This accident has alarmed authorities on taking initiatives for preventing such accident.
