Airlines Operators Association of Nepal has published the helicopter rates for the information of the general public, trekking and travel agencies, government organizations in line with the directives approved by Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA).
The rates which had been submitted to the MoCTCA by Airline Operators Association of Nepal (AOAN) are effective from September 2018 which will remain same until revised.
As per the new helicopter fare, US $ 2000 will be charged per hour for the charter and rescue flights for foreign nationals in accordance to the Block time of every sector.
Fares for High Altitude flights (over 5000 meters) will be allocated with the mutual consent of helicopter company and charter party.
The newly allocated flight fare must be applied strictly by all the respective organizations.
Nepali citizens are required to pay US $ 1500 per hour of rescue flight by AS350B Series /FX, Bell 206 helicopters whereas US $ 1000 per hour is allocated for rescue flight by R44 and R66 helicopter types.
The above prices for the rescue operation of Nepali citizens have been allocated with some discount facilities (subsidized), however, for the recreational purpose, the helicopter rate will be maintained as per the block time.

Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) had already planned to set charter flights’ fare for the helicopter company after the case of fake rescue became viral. Director General of CAAN Sanjeev Gautam previously said that the flight fare of helicopters companies would be finalized after discussing with AOAN.
